Does temperature or humidity affect my results?
Yes, a lot. Most failed pours that aren't a mix-ratio problem trace back to the room or the material being too cold, too hot, or too humid.
- Cold slows cure and can stall it entirely; material poured cold may stay soft for days. Keep your material and workspace in the product's recommended range (commonly around 73°F / 23°C), and bring cold-stored product up to room temperature before mixing.
- Heat speeds cure and shortens your work time. In hot conditions, mix smaller batches and work faster, or switch to a "Slow" version.
- Humidity is the enemy of urethanes and clear resins. Airborne moisture reacts with them and causes bubbles, foaming, cloudiness, and a tacky surface. Keep containers tightly sealed, work in a dry space, and never introduce damp tools, wet molds, or water-based colorants.
The single most common hidden cause: A part that "won't cure" in winter is often just cold. Warming the workspace and the material to room temperature fixes far more problems than any additive.
